The Role:
We're seeking experienced Sheet Metal Mechanics to fabricate, assemble, install, and repair sheet metal products and equipment.
We're seeking experienced Sheet Metal Mechanics to fabricate, assemble, install, and repair sheet metal products and equipment.
Wage:
$22-$30 per hour Dependent on Experience.
Schedule:
- Full-Time
- Monday through Friday (Some weekend work as needed).
- 8-12 hour days
Key Responsibilities:
- Select appropriate gauge and type of sheet metal for projects
- Mark dimensions and reference lines on metal sheets
- Operate fabricating machines (shears, brakes, bending rolls, punch and drill presses)
- Shape metal using various tools and techniques
- Set up and operate soldering and welding equipment
- Smooth seams, joints, and surfaces using files and grinders
- Install assemblies according to blueprint specifications
- Inspect work for conformance with specifications
- Install VAV/s, hanging straps, and ductwork
Requirements:
- Proficiency in shop math
- Skill in working with tools, metals, and machines
- Ability to visualize 3D objects from drawings and blueprints
- Precision and attention to detail
- Adaptability to perform various duties
- Good vision (natural or corrected)
- Physical capability to lift up to 50 pounds, stoop, kneel, climb, and stand for extended periods
