Position Overview/Responsibilities for the Sales Tax Accountant:

• Reporting, verification, and filing of sales tax and miscellaneous tax returns in multiple taxing jurisdictions

• Ensuring all returns are filed timely and accurately

• Assisting, as needed, with audits for the tax types filed and research pertaining to sales, use, and miscellaneous taxes

• Coordinating, preparing reports, and filing returns compliant with federal, state, and local jurisdictions

• Preparing accounting entries and account reconciliation to reflect filings and balance General Ledger accounts
  

Required Skills for Sales Tax Accountant:

• Minimum of 2 years of sales tax experience in a corporate, government, or public accounting environment

• General knowledge of tax trends and processes

• Ability to multi-task in a high-energy environment

• Strong interpersonal, communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, including Excel (Pivot Tables) and Word

• Ability to research, audit, and analyze

• Knowledge of sales tax audits
