Based on your work ethic, development and dedication to your role, with support from your local branch and job-site leadership, you will develop and strengthen your skill sets.
We are seeking a Quality Assurance Inspector to become part of our team!
Your responsibilities will include:
- Basic understanding and ability to research technical documents including engineering drawings, specifications, standards, test procedures, work instructions, NAVSEA Standard Items and contract requirements.
- Perform basic inspection of shipbuilding and ship repair work in accordance with established policies to ensure compliance with technical requirements.
- Ensure correct materials and proper fabrication and installation procedures are utilized during production processes.
- Basic understanding of root cause analysis, corrective action and preventative action practices.
- Understanding of usage of calibrated equipment and ability to validate calibration of equipment, gauges and tools used in production and inspection in accordance with established polices.
- Ability to recognize and document nonconformance's per company policy.
- Draft, reviews and submits QA reports and technical documents.
- Participate in implementing and monitoring continuous improvement initiative to improve safety, quality, reduce cycle time and reduce costs.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements for this role include:
- High School/GED education at a minimum or equivalent. Technical education or college a plus.
- Current NBPI, AMPP/NACE CIPI certification.
- At least 2-4 years of experience as quality assurance in a shipyard.
- Must be able and willing to work a flexible schedule to include overtime and weekends.
- Strong computer skills especially with Microsoft Office or 365.
- Working knowledge of NAVSEA Standard Items.
- Technical knowledge with submarine and/or surface combat ships recommended.
- Must have the ability to communicate effectively with personnel in and outside of the organization.
- Must be able to gain access to military installations and various shipyards.
