We are seeking a Quality Assurance Inspector to become part of our team!
Your responsibilities will include:
- Monitor and measure of all client’s products and processes in the field and facility shops by performing “I”. “V” and “G” hold points and critical coating inspections on naval, MSG, USCG and commercial vessels.
- Assists as Dept Hold Point Coordinator by taking “V”, “I” and “G” Hold points for their respective job sites and directs them to and fom the various customers and to our QA and Task leads on the ship.
- Perform nondestructive inspection methods (VT, PT, and MT) at the level II as required.
- Assist the divisions with deck plate subcontractor control including supplier facility visits.
- Researches customer specifications and drawings then generates inspection reports (tickets) for various project personnel to follow.
- Prepares QA required surveillance reports and documentation to provide objective quality evidence of the project work performed.
- Assists with internal and external audits.
- Closes out all QA documentation (QA Work Packages) for customer review or audit when requested.
- Work directly with the Divisions, Departments, and Sites to revise their third tier procedures.
- Maintains established T&I Plans and is capable of establishing T&I Plans from specification and Standard Item requirements.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements for this role include:
- High School/GED education at a minimum.
- Current NBPI, AMPP/NACE CIPI certification.
- At least 5 years of Quality Assurance or Control experience in a shipyard environment.
- Must be able and willing to work a flexible schedule to include overtime and weekends.
- Strong computer skills especially with Microsoft Office or 365.
- Working knowledge of NAVSEA Standard Items.
- Technical knowledge with submarine and/or surface combat ships recommended.
- Must have the ability to communicate effectively with personnel in and outside of the organization.
- Must be able to gain access to military installations and various shipyards.
