Title: Pest Control Service Technician
Type: Full-Time
Salary range: 35,000 – 42,000
Local family-owned pest control business, located in Virginia Beach, VA, has an immediate opening for a full-time, entry-level, Pest Control Service Technician. Experience is not required; we will train the right person with the right skill set and motivation to learn the business.
Service Technician will be responsible for servicing both commercial and residential properties, addressing various pest issues with professionalism and care. Key Responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Perform pest control services at client locations.
- Inspect buildings/ground, identify pest problems and recommend appropriate solutions.
- Measure dimensions of areas needing treatment.
- Set traps and baits in infested areas as well as surrounding locations.
- Mix pesticides according to specific requirements for each area and pest type.
- Apply pesticides safely in and around customers’ homes.
- Physically remove trapped or exterminated pests as necessary.
- Prevent re-entry of pests using materials such as wood and foam.
- Promote upselling opportunities to customers, including service contracts for ongoing support.
- Follow all workplace health and safety procedures, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of work vehicles stocked with tools and equipment.
- Prepare cost estimates for services rendered.
- Coordinate service schedules with customers while addressing any complaints professionally.
- Log billable hours accurately using time tracking applications.

Qualifications:
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Basic math skills for measuring and mixing chemicals.
- Physical ability to kneel, crawl, climb ladders, and work in various weather conditions.
- Excellent planning, organizational skills, attention to detail, problem-solving abilities, positive attitude, and strong work ethic are essential.
- Good interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Eagerness to learn new techniques and improve skills.
