Salary: $495,000 base + productivity + performance bonuses
Optigy is representing a full-time opportunity for an experienced ICU Medical Director to lead Pulmonary & Critical Care teams at two leading hospitals in the Capital Region of New York. This is a hospital-employed position with a strong work-life balance, no overnights, and dedicated time for both clinical and administrative duties.
Job Description:
The Director will oversee a Closed ICU model at St. Peter’s Hospital in Albany and Samaritan Hospital in Troy, with full subspecialty support. This role is 60% clinical and 40% administrative and includes oversight of quality metrics, workflow protocols, and interdisciplinary leadership. There is a robust support team and 24/7 critical care coverage.
• Must have at least 1 year of ICU Medical Director or equivalent leadership experience (excluding residency/fellowship)
• Must be Board Certified in Pulmonary/Critical Care Medicine or Internal Medicine/Critical Care Medicine (Surgical Critical Care is not eligible)
• Not open to new graduates, visa candidates, or Locums
• Not open to candidates residing within 30 miles of Albany or Troy
• Call: 2–3 nights per month, with one weekend call monthly
• Weekly structure: 1 week ICU, 1 week Pulmonary Consults, 2 weeks outpatient (Sleep Clinic 1x/week if certified)
Compensation and Benefits:
Base Salary: $495,000
Starting Bonus: To be discussed at interview
Relocation Allowance: Reimbursement-based, varies by move distance
