Position Overview/Responsibilities for the Outside Plant Engineer:
- Oversee the management of complex OSP projects involving design and implementation for new and existing fiber deployments
- Create and execute plans associated with Metro OSP infrastructure and all associated components
- Manage projects from start to finish, including managing outside vendors and subcontractors along with managing the financial and payment aspects of the project
- Provide clear communication of technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Collaborate as part of a team to develop plans and drive important business strategies to provide outstanding customer service, streamline processes, and meet financial goals.
Required Skills for Outside Plant Engineer:
- Extensive background in technical team management and development
- Strong background in OSP operations, including construction standards and utility coordination processes
- Knowledge and understanding of the pole attachment process or experience with a similar process in another market
- Knowledge and understanding of fiber deployment technologies
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; interpersonal and collaboration skills
