Fowlerville Medical Center Family Practice office in Fowlerville, MI is looking for a full time Medical Receptionist.

Description and Essential Functions:
- Greets all patients arriving at the office and obtains necessary patient registration information.
- Accurately completes patient forms, collects payment, and ensures that charges
are posted to the billing system.
- Schedules patient appointments according to office guidelines.
- Answers telephone with proper phone etiquette, retrieves phone messages,
relays patient messages, and triage patient calls appropriately.
- Ensures daily payment and charge posting balancing is completed and correct.
- Verify insurance eligibility and benefits, obtain insurance authorizations and send referrals.
- Sort and organize incoming faxes.
- Schedule any follow up appointments, write up lab orders, imaging orders, inform patients about referrals if they're being sent to a specialist, schedule imaging appointments if needed.

Expectations:
- Maintains strict patient and employee confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA
guidelines
- Assumes responsibility for performance of job duties considering factors related
to safety, effectiveness, efficiency, and environmental concerns in planning and
delivering care.
- Works as part of a medical team, and provides support to other medical
assistants and receptionists as requested when time permits.

Required Education, Experience, and Licensure:
- 1+ years relevant experience as a Medical Receptionist.
- High school diploma or equivalent.

Required Skills and Abilities:
- Interpersonal skills necessary to communicate effectively with physicians,
patients, coworkers, and other department representatives.
- Strong computer skills are necessary to learn a variety of hardware and software.
- Good organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent customer service and a positive attitude.
- Medical terminology knowledge.

Job Type: Full-time
Work Location: In person

Pay: $16.00 - $17.00 per hour
