Full-Time Medical Assistant or LPNCoughran Medical Group, Columbia, Louisiana
Privately owned Family Practice clinic seeking a Full-Time Medical Assistant or LPN to join our team!
Responsibilities:
- Preparing charts and maintaining health records
- Obtaining clinical data from patients/historians
- Informing patients of normal lab and test results
- Prescription refills, scheduling appointments/outreach and taking phone calls
- Triaging patients
- Collecting test samples and performing waived lab testing
- Maintaining patient records and following up with patients
- Preparing exam rooms and ordering laboratory tests
- Giving injections/immunizations
- Explaining common medical procedures to patients and assisting in basic examinations
- Utilizing Accountable Care Organization (ACO) tools to assist patients in accessing high value healthcare
Requirements and Skills:
- General office skills for processing mail, faxes, forms, and other documentation related to patient care
- Professional phone etiquette
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Interpersonal / human relations skills and confidentiality
- Ability to maintain schedules
- Ability to exert physical effort, standing, lifting, and carrying materials or equipment
- Ability to file and retrieve information
- Ability to respond to questions in a tactful and professional manner
- Ability to educate patient / family / caregiver on necessary health situations
- Ability / willingness to adhere to the established departmental standards
- Assumes responsibility for required continuing education and licensure renewals.
- Knowledge of value-based care and quality initiatives
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma
- LPN License
- Proficient computer skills
