Job Summary: The Medical Assistant will support healthcare professionals by performing various administrative and clinical tasks to ensure the smooth operation of our medical facility. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, a strong work ethic, and a passion for patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet and check-in patients, verifying their information and updating medical records.
- Assist healthcare providers during examinations and procedures.
- Measure and record patients’ vital signs, such as blood pressure, temperature, and weight.
- Prepare examination rooms and ensure they are clean and well-stocked.
- Administer medications and injections as directed by healthcare providers.
- Perform basic laboratory tests and collect specimens for testing.
- Schedule appointments and manage patient flow.
- Handle billing and insurance documentation.
- Provide patient education and instructions for follow-up care.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a Medical Assistant program preferred.
- Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) is a plus.
- Previous experience in a medical office or healthcare setting is preferred.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Proficiency in using electronic health records (EHR) systems.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle stressful situations with professionalism.
