The Mechanic/Machine Shop Helper will work alongside experienced professionals, utilizing machine shop tools, and hand tools to support the production and assembly of high-quality parts. The ideal candidate should possess knowledge of de-burring equipment and be familiar with measuring devices and standard shop tools.
Responsibilities:
Assist in the manufacturing and assembly of parts within the machine shop.
Utilize machine shop tools and jigs to perform assigned tasks.
Employ hand tools for mechanical assembly and ensure precision in the assembly process.
Operate de-burring equipment to remove burrs and ensure smooth edges.
Demonstrate proficiency in using various measuring devices such as tapes,micrometers, and calipers for accurate measurements.
Familiarize oneself with the use of standard shop tools, including drill presses, saws, and grinders, while adhering to safety protocols.
Collaborate with the team to meet production goals and maintain a high standard of quality.
Maintain a clean and organized work area to promote efficiency and safety.
Requirements:
Prior experience in a similar role or a strong interest in mechanical work is preferred.
Basic knowledge of machine shop tools, fixtures, and hand tools.
Familiarity with de-burring equipment and operation of surface finishing of metal.
Proficiency in using measuring devices such as tapes, rulers/scales, and calipers.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings or instructions.
Comfortable using standard shop tools, including drill presses, saws, and grinders.
Strong attention to detail and the ability to work with precision.
