Family medicine office seeking full-time LPN. Under supervision, candidates should be comfortable with preparing charts, maintaining health records, obtaining clinical data from patients/ historians, informing patients of normal lab and test results, prescription refills, scheduling appointments/outreach and taking phone calls. LPN Job Duties: • Verifies patient information by interviewing patient; recording medical history; reconciling chart and confirming chief complaint of visit and completion of intake data • Prepares patients for examination by performing preliminary physical tests; taking blood pressure, weight, height and temperature; reporting patient history summary and medication dosage and frequency • Performs clinical front desk duties, including, but not limited to answering phone calls, obtaining and/or verifying patient information, patient check-in/check-out, coordinating and facilitating accurate patient appointments • Secures patient information and maintains patient confidence by completing and safeguarding medical records; keeping patient information confidential • Counsels patients, transmits physician's orders and answers questions • Phlebotomy procedures, package specimens for transport to laboratory with appropriate labeling • Perform EKG, spirometry, pulse ox, vision and hearing screening, gait and balance testing on patients, perform CLIA-waved laboratory testing • Assist providers with medical procedures • Administer immunizations/injections as ordered ensuring documentation is completed in the electronic health record • Maintains medicine stock and medical supplies • Performs data entry of lab studies, radiographic tests and authorization requests • Assists with ACO quality initiatives • And other miscellaneous assigned duties Education and Experience • High School diploma or equivalent • Licensed practical nurse • Prefer one year experience; degree above minimum education requirement may be substituted Required Skills • Knowledge of medical terminology, procedures, and diagnoses • Great verbal communication skills • Knowledge of safety, OSHA, and infection control protocol • Knowledge of compliance and HIPAA • Knowledge of general administrative and clerical procedures • Working knowledge of healthcare insurance • Supply management knowledge • Flexibility • Confidentiality • Detail oriented and ability to prioritize tasks • Problem solving ability • Previous experience with ACO duties preferred, but not required
