Position Overview/Responsibilities for the Linux SysOps Technical Lead:
- Oversee Linux-based infrastructures and Linux/Unix administration
- Utilize configuration management tools such as Ansible, Puppet, Chef, and Github
- Scripting using languages such as Bash, Python, and Perl
- Manage virtualization and containerization technologies like VMware, Docker, and Kubernetes
- Troubleshoot and identify root causes of issues
- Deploy, configure, and troubleshoot software applications
- This is a long-term contract (1+ year) with the possibility of annual renewal
Required Skills for Linux SysOps Technical Lead:
- Expertise in Linux operating systems (e.g., Red Hat, CentOS, Ubuntu)
- Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Bash, Python, Perl)
- Experience with configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, Puppet, Chef, Github)
- Knowledge of virtualization and containerization technologies (e.g., VMware, Docker, Kubernetes)
- Understanding of network protocols, services, and security
- Experience with databases such as SQL, MS SQL, MySQL, NoSQL, Hadoop, Elasticsearch, Redis, Cassandra, Oracle, and/or Mongo
- 10+ years of experience in Linux system administration
- 5+ years of experience in a leadership or supervisory role
