Position Overview/Responsibilities for the Lead Technician:
- Installing and troubleshooting cables, security systems, burglar alarm system., fire alarms etc for commercial and retail buildings
- Supporting cabling inspections
- Installing and terminating fiber
- Conduct field quality control inspections, surveys, and audits to ensure customer specifications are achieved on product or system installations and ensuring client satisfaction.
- Provide support and direction to other technicians in the field, supervising work performed and checking for accuracy and quality of work.
- Serve as a technical liaison between company and client locations in your assigned area.
- Resolve issues at the lowest level; escalate issues as required to ensure client satisfaction.
- Train subcontractors and technicians on theory and practices for reliable quality installations.
Required Skills for the Lead Technician:- High School Diploma
- Minimum of 3 years of hands-on field experience and/or cabling experience.
- Experience with structured cabling (cat 5 and 6)
- Prior experience terminating data
- Must have strong organizational and communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Must have a structured cabling certification (i.e., BICSI) or equivalent structured cabling experience.
- Knowledge of Cat 5 cable certification is necessary.
- LAN and telephone, including associated network device installation quality standards would be helpful.
