Summary
Our client, a top notch mechanical contractor, is seeking a HVAC Estimator for their San Diego, CA office. Duties And Responsibilities
  • Bid document review
  • Pre-bid meetings
  • Client interface
  • Quantity takeoff
  • Material, equipment and subcontractor pricing
  • Spreadsheet input and proposal preparation
  • Estimates will be prepared using Quote Express estimating software.
    • Experience with Quote Express or other on-screen estimating software is desired.
  • Duties also include on site and/or in-house estimating where candidate will work with professionals in design firms on design-assist and design-build projects to direct the design to meet the budget.
  • Estimator will also interface with construction project teams and CAD detailing staff.
Qualifications & Requirements 
  • Proficient in MS Word, MS Excel, Bluebeam, Lotus Notes, and QuoteExpress windows-based piping and sheet metal estimating systems.
  • Must have knowledge regarding safety, worker’s compensation, insurance and bonding, materials as it pertains to bidding requirements.

  • Must interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Must have organizational skills in handling & archiving technical data.
  • Must comply with all operating policies, procedures, plans, and programs
  • Prefer a minimum of 3-5 years mechanical construction experience and proficiency in the preparation of large and complex bid proposals of all types.
  • Must have the demonstrated ability to effectively communicate, cooperate, and collaborate with multiple levels of employees, clients, vendors, and suppliers.
